What is equity in poker?
Equity in poker is your mathematical share of the pot β the percentage of the time your hand wins if all remaining cards are dealt and no one folds. For example, pocket aces have roughly 82% equity against pocket kings preflop, meaning AA wins 82 times out of 100 on average (see Poker probability on Wikipedia). Equity shifts every street as community cards appear, and it is the foundation of pot-odds, expected-value, and GTO decision-making. How to use this calculator
Pick a mode for each player. Exact means two specific hole cards. Range lets you select a weighted set of hands using the 13Γ13 matrix, the Top % slider, or a preset like UTG open or BB defend. Random uses all 1 326 combos β useful when you genuinely have no read on a villain.

Pot odds and outs
Once you know your equity, compare it against the pot odds you're getting. If villain bets half pot, you need 25% equity to call profitably. If you're drawing to a flush with 9 outs on the turn, you'll hit roughly 20% of the time on the river β so you need the right price to continue.
