WSOP and EPT: Biggest stages around the world

The most popular series is, without a doubt, the World Series of Poker, which gathers thousands of players every year in Las Vegas. The Main Event winner of this series gets millions of dollars, a bracelet, and the title of world champion. What do you know about the European Poker Tour? It was created in 2004 by John Duthie. Events are held in different cities across Europe. In 2024, we have EPT Paris and EPT Monte Carlo already finished, and EPT Barcelona, EPT Cyprus, and EPT Prague yet to come. There is a lot more going on around the poker world, including the World Poker Tour, WPT World Championship, and Triton Super High Roller Series, which some day you can be a part of. Massive buy-ins and wins in the poker world

How much would you pay to play poker? There are plenty of people around the world who play high rollers with buy-ins from $1,000 to $10,000. The EPT Main Event entry fee for example costs you around $5,000, while the most important tournament’s price at WSOP is set at 10 grand. But you can play bigger…

In the Triton Super High Roller Series, you can enter tournaments even for $250,000, while the Main Event entry is set at $125,000. If you are still not impressed, we have something else. What would you say about 1,000,000 dollars, euros, or pounds? The Big One for One Drop, for example, was a $1 million tournament hosted first in 2012 during WSOP. From every entry, $111,111 was taken and donated to the One Drop Foundation. Despite this ‘charity tax,’ winner Antonio Esfandiari took home an $18,346,673 first-place prize.

History had many other poker tournaments with million-dollar buy-ins, including the £1,050,000 Triton Million for Charity in 2019. This one would be the record-breaking event in terms of first-place winnings if it weren’t for the fact that Aaron Zhang and Bryn Kenney decided to make a deal playing heads-up. Zhang got £13,779,491, and Bryn Kenney got £16,890,509 (worth more than $20,000,000 at that time), but it was the former who ultimately won the entire tournament in London.
